January 27th & 28th, 2018Edinburgh Wedding ExhibitionMurrayfield Stadium

Edinburgh Wedding Exhibition

Edinburgh Wedding Exhibition

As an Edinburgh wedding photographer, I was really excited about exhibiting at the SEM’s flagship wedding exhibition – Edinburgh Wedding Exhibition at the famous Murrayfield Stadium.

Although I have exhibited with SEM at their other wedding exhibitions – Glasgow’s wedding exhibition (Hamden Park Stadium), Perth wedding exhibition (Perth Racecourse) and Loch Lomond wedding exhibition (Loch Lomond Shores), this was the first time I did the Edinburgh show.

I was very impressed it was an amazing wedding exhibition that literally had the happy couple’s whole wedding covered under one roof. With over 120 suppliers ranging from photographers, venues, bridalwear, groomwear, jewellers, cakes, bands, cars, celebrants, hair and beauty, florist, stationary, hen and stag do, catering, fireworks etc it really has it all to make a wedding extra special.

As well as speaking with all the suppliers the bride and groom and their entourage has a fully packed day with live band performances, cat walks, Mr and Mrs Competition and even a prosecco bar that always keeps everyone happy.

As an Edinburgh wedding photographer there is nothing better than speaking to all the brides and grooms and their friends and family. I love getting to hear about their plans for their wedding day it really is very exciting. Whether they are newly engaged or just at the end of their wedding preparations with a few months away from the big day, everyone is buzzing with excitement.

As there was 13 wedding photographers, I was honoured to be asked to photograph the catwalk, both of the catwalks were full with many people standing at the back. The flower girl stole the show with a lots of aaaawwwww’s and claps coming from the audience whenever she walked down the catwalk.

Beecraigs Engagement

I was great meeting Donna and Shaun and spending a couple of hours with them, they are such a lovely young couple. This shoot was extra special as Donna was only a 6 weeks away from giving birth to their child. We decided to go to Beecraigs Country Park in West Lothian, it was my first time but with over 900 acres, it was a great location to take photos.

We started at Beecraigs Loch, where we took photos on the walkway on top of the Loch, which in itself was challenging trying to walk, it felt like walking on a waterbed. After we did photos beside the Loch, we then ventured into the forrest itself, which was lovely and really busy with families going for walks and walking dogs.

It was great getting to know Donna and Shaun during the shoot and I am delighted to say that Donna gave birth to a healthy boy called Lyle in July.

Donna and Shaun said these kind words:

“Had a great experience today with Steven, the photos look great and can’t wait to see more, what an amazing talent you have will be amazing to meet again when baby is here to get more photos done, your work is amazing!!”

Hope you guys enjoy the photos and again congratulations on the birth of Lyle, below is a small selection from the engagement shoot.

Edinburgh Engagement

I got to spend a couple of hours getting to know Hilda and David and had great fun during the shoot. Hilda is from Sweden and David is from Australia and they met each other in Edinburgh, so it was a great to go around Edinburgh shooting at various spots.

There was a bit of a chill in the air but that didn’t spoil the fun we started off climbing up the foot of Arthur Seat to St Anthony’s Chapel where we took some photos and took in the breathtaking views of Edinburgh and surrounding cities and towns. We then moved close by to Duddingston Loch which is located in Holyrood Park and had some photos by the Loch and lots of swans came over to visit us (I think they thought we were looking to feed them). We then finished just off the historic Edinburgh Royal Mile where we took photos against a graffiti background. It really was an enjoyable day walking around the city, with some beautiful views over the city.

Hilda and David said these kind words:

“A few months ago, Steven picked my girlfriend and I up and took us on a photoshoot around the Lochs and cliffs of Edinburgh. It was a fantastic day, a lot of fun, with Steve coming up with poses and positions that made for some lovely photos. We spent a few hours out there with him and within a few days, had some fantastic photos to send back to our families in Sweden and Australia. I would recommend Steven for couples looking to get their special moments captured in a fun and professional manner. Thanks Steven!”

Hope you guys enjoy the photos as much as I loved taking them, below is a small selection from the engagement shoot.
