Gourock Wedding
I first meet Mo at a wedding that she was the ceremonies officer and I was the photographer, since then we have worked together at other weddings. As Mo has done hundreds of weddings and worked with many photographers when she asked me to be her wedding photographer it was a great honour.
I have met up with Mo and Scott on several occasions and you can tell they are a happy couple and are made for each other, they made it clear they were looking for a fun wedding with lots of laughter and nothing too formal. With Mo and her family being from the West of Scotland they support Rangers and Scott and his family from the East of Scotland supporting Hearts they have a friendly rivalry.
Both Mo and Scott’s have elderly relatives that unfortunately can’t travel so they decided to have the best of both worlds with the ceremony in Gourock and the reception in Edinburgh (with a wedding cake in both places).
Despite the weather it didn’t damper the spirits, and after a fun ceremony with laughter and (happy) tears, we managed to get a short break in the weather and got out to take some photos before the rain started again. As a regular Gourock wedding photographer, the scenery really is breathtaking.
During the speeches, Mo’s father did an “unexpected” speech and presented Scott with a present, when Scott unwrapped the gift, there was the biggest cheer and laughter as in Scott’s hand was a brick with the word Rangers written on it – 1-0 to the West of Scotland.
After the meal and first cake cutting it was over to Edinburgh for the reception at Prestonfield Golf Club. It wasn’t long until it was time to cut the second wedding cake of the day followed by the bride and groom’s first dance. There were lots of smiling and laughter throughout the evening as well as a very busy dance floor.
Below is a small selection of photos from the day:
